Dec 15 - Bill of Rights Day Celebration The 10th Annual Bill of Rights Day Celebration was attended by 110 patriots on December 15, 2009 in Loveland, Colorado.
There were several informational tables set up including the Loveland 912 Book Club and Legislative Committee, ‘Clear the Bench Colorado’ and Stephanie Anderson had a table for her new book ‘Signs of Freedom’. See the 912 Legislative Committee "Threats to the Bill of Rights" paper. We were musically entertained by the Northern Colorado Fife & Drum Corps and then there was a memorial presentation for Craig Weeks, a true patriot and gentle giant. The memorial ended with a bag piper rendition of 'Amazing Grace'. We listened to a presentation by Matt Arnold of Clear the Bench Colorado. Matt’s presentation was geared around the Bill of Rights and how the Judicial Branch is exceeding its powers and diminishing our rights. Next on the agenda we enjoyed some music by Dean Madere who played his songs ‘The Take Away’ and ‘Justified’. We listened a reading of the first ten amendments to the Constitution, best known as the Bill of Rights. Next we had a sing-a-long of patriotic songs led by Deb on the keyboard and Dean on the guitar. A caffeine wired Tom Buchanan then gave a tirade of what was bothering him, including the insanity of the actions taken by congress that made absolutely no sense. He also expressed that we all need to stick together. Nancy Rumfelt gave a wonderful talk entitled “Unite or Die’. It was based on the seriousness of our nation’s dire situation and how we had all better step up to the plate and basically put our honor, our fortune and our lives on the line much like the Founders of our nation had done a few hundred years ago. Her talk included a time line of how long it took for our nation to be formed. She made references to the book ‘The 5,000 Year Leap’ which should be required reading by anyone that considers themselves a patriot. She finished her speech with the last half of Patrick Henry’s famous ‘Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death’ speech. After a few more closing words and the singing of Craig’s favorite song, ‘The More We Get Together’ the meeting came to a close and people stayed around for an hour and a half and visited with each other. The more we get together, together, together
the more we get together, the happier we'll be ‘Cause your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends The more we get together the happier we'll be. Some notable people in attendance were Sheriff Jim Alderden, who spoke at the first Bill of Rights Day Celebration in the year 2000. Senator Kevin Lundberg also attended and gave a talk during the memorial to Mr. Weeks. Kevin also spoke at a Bill of Rights Day Event a few years ago. Diggs Brown, candidate for CD4 was in attendance throughout the evening. Dean Madere is a candidate for CD4. Also making an appearance as their busy schedules allowed were Representative BJ Nikkel and CU Regent and candidate for CD4 Tom Lucero. |
