Why participate in the Caucus?
Why participate in the Caucus/Primary Election Activities versus support 3rd party candidates?
We need to identify very good principled candidates and help them win in the primaries and we’re going to send them to Washington as Republicans or Democrats ( we don’t care which, because we don’t care what party someone belongs to) where they can actually defend the Constitution and restore the Republic to its founding principles.
We need to participate as Republicans or Democrats...why? Because of Duvergers Law? What is Duvergers Law? Whenever "50% of the vote plus 1 more" wins EVERYTHING", people will eventually coalesce around 2 parties even when they DON'T want to do so.
Please note, to win as an independent, a candidate would have to motivate and mobilize enough people to get MORE votes than the Republican or the Democrat, and if that person can motivate and mobilize that many people, then winning either primary should be a slam dunk...so why not roll up your sleeves and do so?
That is the reason that LIBERTARIAN Ron Paul is actually IN congress. Because he chose to run not as a Libertarian but as a Republican so he could actually win. Result? Ron Paul is free to be a true constitutional Libertarian IN congress. People were REALLY mad in 2008 when congressional approval ratings fell to 16%, and the result was incumbents re-election rates RISING to 96%....and once again ZERO 3rd party candidates were elected. (Duvergers Law)
We can act effectively within the Republican Party to root out the compromised incumbents and "progressive" candidates... we CAN take back control of the party from the RINO's (Republicans in Name Only). We will do it in 2010 all over the country because of all of our members just like you. Saying you support our principles won't do us any good unless we can send candidates we support to Washington and defeat the incumbents that are voting for Public Options, Cap and Trade, Earmarks, etc.
Those who insist on running as independent candidates and refuse to get serious about actually winning will all draw 2% to 3% of the vote (give or take 2 %) and be sitting in their living rooms in 2011 not doing themselves or the nation any good. Why would you choose to limit yourself like that when you can win instead?
Are you registered as either a Republican or a Democrat so you can participate in the Caucus?
