Freedom of Speech in the Netherlands, a First Amendment Lesson

Geert Wilders, a Dutch politician in the Netherlands is charged with discrimination against Muslims.  Mr Wilders, has compared the Quran with Mein Kampf, stating that both works are similar in terms of their anti-Semitism and incitement to hatred.  An article dated Jan 26, 2010 in the WSJ states that Mr Wilders "insists his focus is on radical Islam and the Quran, which he considers to be not only a religious text but also a political pamphlet encouraging Muslims to discriminate against and, if necessary, kill Jews, Christians, apostates and other unbelievers."  We have posted two Video Clips about this trial and the first amendment issues it raises. As America struggles with Political Correctness there should be much to learn as this trial proceeds.  If you "google" Geert Wilders...you will find many articles about this trial, please post comments as you find items of interest.  Carol K.
