Prepare for Caucus - March 16

March 16, 2010 - Precinct Caucus Day (both Republicans and Democrats)
Why you should attend

Caucuses give you and your neighbors in the precinct an opportunity to discuss issues that are important to you..a chance to say how you would like to see a problem addressed.  Is is also your opportunity to influence the candidate selection within your party.  You are given a voice in the process  at the most basic level. You can introduce resolutions prepared by yourself or groups that you support.  It is in the precinct caucus that the formal process of candidate selection begins and here is your opportunity to speak for candidates who may be chosen to represent your party in the general election in November.  You may take an active role by becoming a delegate to the next level of meetings or you may choose to go only to observe the process.

What happens at The Caucus

Elect two Committee people to serve a two-year term as members of the Larimer County Central Committee
Elect Delegates and Alternates to attend County, District, State, and Congressional Assemblies
Conduct a preference poll - Governor and U.S. Senate, and U.S. House 4th District

Things to do prior to Caucus Day

To participate in the Caucus, you must be a registered voter and affiliated with either the Republican or Democratic Party.
